Roger Vadim's BARBARELLA


February 11, 2000 · French film and theater director Roger Vadim died today in Paris at the age of 72, after a battle with cancer. Vadim was best-known for the movie, "And God Created Woman," which launched the career of his then wife Brigitte Bardot in 1956, and the 1968 film, "Barbarella," which launched the career of his then wife Jane Fonda. NPR's Brooke Gladstone reports.
